UPDATE: This Property is No Longer Available
The Hoskins property lies in a region ranked as the highest in BC for metallic mineral discoveries potential (BC Geological Survey Branch) and near highest for industrial mineral discoveries potential.
Location and Access:
The Hoskins property is located in the Revelstoke Mining Division adjacent to the Kirbyville Creek, McCulloch Creek and French Creek placer goldfields in the Big Bend region of Southeastern British Columbia, Canada. The 6,012 hectare hardrock mineral property is 90km north of Revelstoke, a resource industry city, near the Revelstoke Reservoir and adjacent to Highway 23.
Description:
The Property lies in an area that is highly prospective for gold and nickel, REEs, as well as strataform zinc-lead (copper) massive sulfide mineralization of a type similar to the J&L, Rift, Ruddock Creek and Goldstream deposits that are located in this Big Bend region. The reader should review information contained at www.mapplace.ca (BC government geosciences database) and related to the Big Bend region.
Geology:
The Property lies astride the Monashee Decollement, a regionally important thrust fault separating mantling gneisses of the Frenchman Cap dome in the south from overriding Late Proterozoic continental terrace rocks of the Kootenay Terrane in the north.
History:
Refer to www.mapplace.ca for historical information. Another good reference of regional placer gold history is, ”The Guide to Gold Panning in British Columbia”, N.L. Barlee, 1973.
