Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Project Manager to join the Open Pit operations team. The Project Manager will manage the execution of all aspects of the Cortez Open Pit relocation including planning, design, approval, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

• Provide design input to engineering consultants

• Coordinate efforts internally within Barrick during planning, design, construction, and commissioning

• Complete in-house design for improvements of the appropriate size and complexity

• Initiate regular communication with operations, environmental, safety, project sponsor and stakeholders

• Procurement of equipment, supplies and contracts

• Proactively manage project to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety

• Utilize project life-cycle tools to track and record project performance in accordance with Barrick standards and best-in-class practices for project control

• Inform management of schedule, costs, quality control, document control of any issues which may arise during the project life cycle 

• Other Duties as assigned

   

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in project management required
• 10+ years experience in a leadership role required
• Bachelor of Science degree.  Technical degree or business preferred.
• Experience with large, complex organizations preferred 
• Meets deadlines and communicates proactively required

• Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required

• Ability to complete task with limited supervision required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
