Position Description:

Barrick Nevada is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our technical services team.

Responsibilities:

• Review and optimize blast performance for wall control
• Assist with geotechnical monitoring as needed and maintain monitoring database
• Assist with geotechnical reports and documentation as well as high wall designs and geotechnical investigations as needed 
• The candidate will also assist with geotechnical mapping and core logging and assist with ground control safety trainings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geology or Geological Engineering or equivalent required

• One (1) to Two (2) years experience working in the geotechnical or mining field preferred

• Experience with geotechnical slope monitoring equipment preferred

• Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

• Team leader, problem solver and excellent oral and written communications skills required

• Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods at a time required

• Ability to work closely with peers at any level of expertise required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
