Our Client Rio Tinto Coal & Allied is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters for work their Hunter Valley mine site, as part of 345 Shovel Shutdown. The shutdown is scheduled to commence on 22nd of February 2016 and is approximately 14 days in length (individual roster duration estimate 9 shifts).The successful applicant will have a minimum 4+ years plus experience carrying out repairs, maintenance, servicing and diagnostic on heavy mining machinery, with experience on draglines, excavators and shovels essential. Candidates with experience in a shutdown environment will be highly regarded.

You must have a strong focus on safety in the work place, and you will have the following tickets or be will to obtain them:
* Certificate of Proficiency or TAFE Qualification and Craft Certificate or Certificate III in Engineering- Mechanical Trade
* Confined Space
* Working at Heights
* Drivers License

Living Away from Allowance (LAHA) is able to be applied for by candidates relocating to the area for the duration of the shutdown. This must be specifically approved on a case by case basis, and evidence of accommodation expenses or a statutory declaration must be supplied to be eligible for the payments.

You will be required to work a four (4) on, two (2) off roster, day OR night shift and including weekends. Shifts will be 12.5 hours duration.
Suitable candidates must also be willing to under go a Coal Services Medical prior to commencement.
