Lac des Iles Mines (LDI) is the Company’s flagship mine and is one of only two primary palladium producers in the world. The mine is located approximately 85 km northwest of the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario and consists of an open pit, an underground mine, and a large 15,000 tonne per day Mill with significant excess capacity available for future production growth. LDI is currently undergoing a major expansion to transition from mining via ramp to mining at a higher throughput via shaft while utilizing a high volume bulk mining method in the underground mine. Through the utilization of the shaft and higher mining rates, LDI is expected to benefit from increased production at reduced cash costs per ounce, transforming the mine into a long life, low cost producer of palladium. Production Coordinator Job ID # 02-2016 Reporting to the Operations Mine General Foreman the Production Coordinator will have the responsibility of owning and driving the short term mine plan. Other duties will include executing the quality management plan with respect to drilling and blasting activities. Primary accountabilities will be to coordinate between the Engineering staff and the operations supervisors on the building and execution of processes and tools that will ensure accurate data management and utilization for efficient production activities. The coordinator will build and mold the quality management plans for ITH and top hammer drilling, emulsion loading and the perimeter control in mine development. The ideal candidate will possess Ontario Common core modules for underground hard rock mining and a minimum of 5 years within an underground environment in a technical or supervisory position. An Engineering degree or college diploma in Mining as well as Ontario Supervisory Common Core modules would be an asset, but not a prerequisite. The successful candidate will also have an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
