Position: Project Manager

Reports to: Vice President, Development and Construction

Role Overview:  Based at Toronto office, this position is required to coordinate the engineering and all other activities required to support the EIA submission and develop the Lynn Lake Project, including First Nations and Lynn Lake community and government relations. This position would also oversee the detailed engineering and the construction.

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for managing projects, working with either in-house or external consultants and contractors as applicable to achieve the desired results;
  • The primary interface/liaison for all necessary baseline studies, technical studies, socio-economic impact studies and environmental evaluations;
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders including local communities, First Nations and government
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, rules, laws and government regulations within the project scope;
  • Receives and reviews all studies, baseline reports and findings;
  • Makes independent decisions on work methods and procedures within project scope and based on approved budgets, authorizes commitments and expenditures and controls costs within budget limits;
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project;
  • Regularly communicate and report on the project status to the Vice President, Development and Construction and other Executives;
  • An ability to travel up to 50%; and
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10+ years of project management experience in engineering, construction, start-up and operation of mining operations;
  • An Engineering or comparable degree, alternatively applicants must demonstrate comparable experience in the field;
  • Affiliation (or eligibility to register) with a Professional Engineering Organization would be considered a valuable asset;
  • Experience managing mining projects in Canada and experience building relationships with First Nations communities would be considered an asset;
  • A proven appreciation for, and a demonstrated capability in the application of advanced methods of data collection, data analysis, and engineering/construction progress reporting is required;
  • A PMP designation would be considered an asset.
