Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Security Technician to join the Security team.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and operating access control equipment

• Monitoring CCTV systems

• Maintaining and completing all related records, report writing. 

• Candidate will monitor all fire alarm, lightning and security alarm systems and operate other required computer systems. 

• Manage visitor, contractor and employee access, providing initial mine site orientation. 

• Dispatch emergency ERT, MRT and security response. 

• Responsible for building site inspection, housekeeping, and roving guard checks.

•  Provide assistance response and emergency response. 

• Ensure compliance with the GSS, fuel standard, explosives standard and other Barrick required and mine site access control, safety and security minimum standards.  

• Maintain confidentiality of information and systems

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• One to three years of experience in security preferred

• Mining experience preferred

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required

• Proven safe work record required

• Valid Nevada driver’s license required 

• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required

• Able to pass Barrick Gold Compliance standard background check required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
