Key responsibilities:

  • Determine the contracting strategy in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Prepare RFQ documents including advice on contractual and commercial
  • Issue RFQ to Vendors on Project Vendors list.
  • Attend site Inspection meetings and taking minutes.
  • Assist and administer the resolution and queries from Tenderers during the
    bidding process and conduct bid clarification meetings.
  • Evaluation of tenders received and compilation of a contract award
    recommendation in liaison with Project Manager.
  • Control all contract variations and claims and amendments to Orders or
    Contracts.
  • Ensure re-measurement of provisional quantities from construction drawings.
  • Receive and check invoices against Order or Contract and prepare payment
    certificates.
  • Ensuring that all Contracts and Orders are finally closed out at end of project.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree / Diploma – Bachelor’s degree: B.Com, B.Sc. would be advantageous
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience as a Contract Administrator in the Petrochemical / EPC industry.
  • Experience with large scale EPCM / EPC projects (project values +- R250m – R500m)
  • Worked on the following contract types: NEC  & FIDIC (would be advantageous to have both)
  • Only South African citizens or permanent residents will be considered
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
