The Turquoise Ridge property is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 43 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.
Position Description:
Barrick is looking for an Underground Network Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Instrumentation and Communications Supervisor, the Underground Network Technician, is responsible for the following:
- Perform all installation, maintenance, and repair of physical communications & network components
- Create and maintain documentation including scope of work
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in networking and knowledge of networking protocols required

Two (2) year technical degree and/or certification preferred

CCNA Wireless certification preferred

Proficient in Vulcan, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Visio preferred

Knowledge of 802.11 wireless networking preferred
-
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper network technologies required
-
Certified Fiber Optic Technician or equivalent preferred

Excellent site installation of network hardware skills required
-
Understanding of wireless site survey technologies preferred (Ekahau)

Excellent written and oral communication skills required

Ability to create and maintain written documentation required

Strong dedication to safety and courageous leadership required

Two years underground experience preferred

Operations of scissor deck, boom truck, forklift, etc. preferred

Knowledge in Microsoft Office and Oracle programs preferred
