Position Description:

Barrick is looking for an Underground Operations Engineer/Coordinator to join the Underground Operations team. The Underground Operations Engineer will provide engineering support to the operations group in the areas of execution planning, operations management, and cost control.  The incumbent will play a significant role in advancing the Short Interval Control system at Cortez Underground.  

Responsibilities:

• Project management of operations projects for Life of Mine infrastructure associate with capital development

• Contract management for short duration contractors such as basic construction, raise bores, and production drilling

• Will be accountable for the acquisition process of production mobile equipment based on the life of mine plan and approved capital budget. 

• Lead the implementation of step change advances in equipment such as new version of automation systems and operator assistance systems. 

• As part of the Short Interval Control plan develop detailed daily execution plans for the holistic mining cycle based on the rotational plan provided by technical services in Deswik.OPs

• Adjudicate conflicting needs of the operations, maintenance, and technical groups at the rotational plan level

• Other duties as assigned

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors.
