Barrick Turquoise Ridge Joint Venture Operations is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 70 kilometers northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The successful candidate will conduct training sessions covering specific areas, Part-48 new miner training, on-the-job training with operators, maintainers and supervisors, along with Barrick sponsored training events such as Annual Refresher Training;
• Evaluate and report on training effectiveness based on progress measures
• Select and/or develop testing or evaluation procedures to be used prior to and following completion of training; may be responsible for revising design of training curriculum and method to improve effectiveness
• Select and/or develop teaching aides such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference materials; may be required to provide performance and talent feedback for appropriate supervisors
• Ensure all documents are completed to meet regulatory agency standards; involvement with any remediation that may be required associated with citations and/or recommendations from MSHA; perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:  To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Two (2) years underground experience preferred

• Previous experience as an underground trainer preferred

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferred

• Proven safety record required

• Good presentation skills required

• Strong safety and leadership skills required

• Good communication, computer, and organization skills required

• Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required

• Demonstrated ability to perform essential function of the position required
