West African gold producer Aureus Mining has taken the first steps to transition its New Liberty gold mine, in Liberia, to an owner-operated mine. Aureus believes the adoption of owner-operator mining will significantly reduce the ongoing costs of mining operations and improve the company’s operational and financial flexibility.
