DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Research and Markets has announced the addition of the “Global Three-Phase Separator Market in Oil and Gas Industry 2016-2020” report to their offering.
The global three-phase separator market in the oil and gas industry to grow at a CAGR of 1.25% during the period 2016-2020.
The report covers the present scenario and the growth prospects of the global three-phase separator market in the oil and gas industry for 2016-2020. The report also presents the vendor landscape and a corresponding detailed analysis of the top five vendors operating in the market. The vendors included in the report are component manufacturers and suppliers. The report also includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market.
Crude oil is of two types: sweet crude oil and sour crude oil. Sweet crude is also referred to as light crude while sour crude is referred to as heavy crude.
Based on composition, sweet or sour crude oil needs to be refined using different methods and technologies. At the time of production, crude oil stream consists of three-phases, solid, liquid, and gas. For transportation of crude oil, it is necessary to separate these phases.
One technology that provides early stage separation is a three-phase separator. This separator enables refiners to go directly for refining as it provides early stage separation of the crude oil.
A three-phase separator consists of a safety valve, weir, level controller, and a heat exchanger. A safety valve provides protection against undesirable pressure build-up. The weir inside the separator maintains the oil level, and the level controller maintains the water level.
The oil is skimmed over the weir. The oil export valve operates the level of the oil of the weir, which is controlled by a level controller. Constant vessel pressure is maintained by gas flow out through a mist extractor to a pressure control valve. This gas flow stream then passes to a compressor, which increases the pressure of the export gas, driven by a variable motor speed.
A heat exchanger acts as a cooling medium at the outlet side of the compressor. The cooler is regulated by a temperature control loop. Also, an anti-surge controller loop is installed to protect the compressor from entering a surge condition.
