Gold posted the biggest loss in four weeks on speculation that a vote by Britons to stay in the European Union in Thursday’s referendum will undercut demand for the metal as a haven. Silver also fell, and copper rallied.
While newer polls have been split on the outcome, betting shops put the probability of a vote to leave the European Union at about 26% Tuesday, down from more than 40% a week earlier, according to Oddschecker data.
