Indegy Founders to Unveil Security Gaps in Industrial Control Networks at RSA Conference 2016

–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Indegy:

WHO:   Barak Perelman, CEO of industrial cyber security company Indegy, has led several multi-million dollar cybersecurity projects at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). He is a graduate of the elite Talpiot military academy and has over 15 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and protection of critical infrastructures.

Mille Gandelsman, CTO of Indegy, has led engineering efforts for Stratoscale and spent several years leading cybersecurity research for Israel’s elite intelligence corps. Gandelsman is an IDF Talpiot graduate and has over 15 years of hands-on experience in ICS and cybersecurity.

WHAT: In 2015, more than 295 cybersecurity incidents were reported to the Department of Homeland Security’s Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT), which represented a significant increase from previous years. Many other incidents go unreported or undetected. As recent incidents in the Ukraine and elsewhere demonstrate, ICS networks are prized targets for both malicious actors and nation states. In this session, Barak and Mille will dispel the myth that attacks on ICS must rely on standard industrial protocols. This hands-on demonstration will show:

– How PLC logic can be modified via proprietary protocols to evade detection by the traditional approach of monitoring “standard” OT protocols for changes

– That HMI (human machine interface) clients have no visibility and are blind to PLC code block changes

– The capabilities needed to close these gaps
