ASX-listed diversified mining and exploration company Independence Group (IG) announced on Monday that gold production at its 30%-owned Tropicana gold mine – which is 70% owned and managed by AngloGold Ashanti – was 28 651 oz for the June quarter, which was firmly within its production guidance range. The average yearly processing plant rate at the Kalgoorlie-based mine for the June quarter was a record 6.88-million tons a year, with an annualised rate in excess of 7.25-million tons a year achieved for the months of May and June.
