Canadian miner Centerra Gold reported Wednesday that the Kyrgyz Republic government has “very recently” indicated to Centerra its dissatisfaction with the current arrangements governing Centerra and the Kumtor project, but that no proposals from government to address the situation had been forthcoming.
TSX-listed Centerra on Tuesday reported in its first-quarter results for the three months ended March 31, that the Kyrgyz government had repeated certain historical concerns and allegations regarding Centerra’s and its subsidiary Kumtor Gold Company’s (KGC’s) management and governance and the operations of the Kumtor mine.
