ASX-listed rare earths hopeful Peak Resources announced on Thursday that it had appointed Ambassador Paul Rupia, an “internationally recognised and respected” Tanzania statesman, as special adviser to the Peak board. Rupia currently served as chairperson of DCB Commercial Bank and had held this role since 2002. Previously, he served in the Tanzania government at various senior levels, including chief secretary in the President’s office, Cabinet secretary, civil service head, Foreign Affairs Ministry principal secretary, permanent Tanzania representative for the United Nations, Ethiopia ambassador and UK deputy High Commissioner.
