MIDLAND, Texas & ARLINGTON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Priority Power Management, LLC (“PPM”), a Texas-based leading independent energy management and consulting services firm, has completed the development of a distributed energy generation facility with 9.4 MVA of installed capacity in the Wind River Basin of Wyoming for an upstream oil and gas producer client.
PPM has been providing strategic advisory and energy supply management services to the client for its operations in Texas since 2010. The client requested PPM’s assistance in evaluating the most economical options to power its operations in the Wind River Basin of Wyoming as it was facing steep year-over-year rate increases from the local electric utility, as well as multi-million dollar upfront costs to serve its growing electrical demands.
PPM conducted a thorough engineering and economic evaluation of several options to meet the client’s growing demand requirements. The options evaluated included taking electrical service from the local electric utility, or disconnecting from the utility and installing on-site distributed power generation. Multiple generation technologies and equipment configurations were considered. Based on PPM’s evaluation, the client chose to proceed with a plan to install on-site distributed power generation and ultimately disconnect from the utility.
PPM entered into an agreement with the client to provide full turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) services to develop the distributed energy project. PPM’s scope included installing five (5) Caterpillar G3516C natural gas-fueled generators equipped with waste heat recovery units, CAT ISO switchgear, and the powerhouse building.
