Vancouver-based diamond miner Lucara Diamond Corp will retain the the massive 1 109 ct Lesedi la Rona diamond after it failed to sell at auction in London.
The company, which found the Type IIa precious gem in November at its flagship Karowe mine, in Botswana, said bidding did not meet the auction’s reserve price.
