The Western Australian Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) has welcomed assurances from the state government that it would not hinder the development of the four uranium projects already granted approval.
Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Johnston on Tuesday implemented a ban on uranium mining on all future granted mining leases, telling Parliament that the actions were consistent with the ban that existed between 2002 and 2008, and which had proved effective.
