The Alaska Range is host to a significant accumulation of REE minerals, ilmenite, zircon, and other heavy minerals. Oneproject has a resource estimate for ~14 million cubic metres of of cerium-enriched, REE minerals. Placer concentrations averaging ~7.6% titanium, 2.91% zirconium, 0.21% lanthanum, 0.28% cerium, and 460 ppm niobium.

Other exploration prospects around Alaska include REE's and heavy minerlas as above and tin and titanium placer accumulations. Other opportunities are available for potentially significant sources of uranium, thorium and potassium.

Alaska has one REE project under development - Bokan Mountain in southeast Alaska.

Multiple projects across Alaska available for Rare Earth Elemenents (REEs) and Heavy Mineral Placers exploration and development opportunities.

The Alaska Range prospect is a significant accumulation of REE minerals, ilmenite, zircon, and other heavy minerals concentrated in a placer deposit. The pluton is radioactive and scintillometer readings taken along traverses across the intrusion range from 650-to-800 cps, about 3 times the average background for granitic rocks. High energy glaciofluvial gravels with significant heavy mineral concentrations have accumulated in an elliptical, one square kilometer area. Stream bed and fan deposits contain abundant chevkinite, eudialyte, ilmenite, monazite, tscheffkinite, and zircon and minor to trace allanite, cassiterite, and thorite. Natural streaks of black sand rich in magnetite and ilmenite are very common in bedload environments. Monazite and zircon are easily identified in the field. Placer concentrations averaging 7.5% titanium, 2.9% zirconium, 0.21% lanthanum, 0.28% cerium, and 460 ppm niobium occur throughout large areas of the placer deposit. Based on systematic bulk sampling, estimates that the Alaska Range REE placer deposit contains 13.5 million cubic meters of cerium-enriched, REE heavy minerals. The depth of the placer deposit has not been tested and this estimate is considered very concervative.

Geology:

Most of the REEs and heay minerals are accumulation of minerals within placers, there are also some hard rock prospect opportuniites. The Alaska Range project although contains riebeckite granite, biotite granite, and pyroxene syenite phases; it's average chemical composition is that of a peralkaline granite (Solie, 1983).

Alaska has one REE project under development - Bokan Mountain in southeast Alaska. Alaska is known to host most of the US Critical Minerals. A significant opportunity for sourcing US Critical Minerals, not only REEs, tin and titanium.
