Location and Access:

AUSTRALIA THANES CREEK GOLDFIELD 35MIN SOUTH/WEST OF WARWICK OFF THE CUNNINGHAM HIGHWAY

Description:

ALLUVIAL DEPOSITS ALONG THANES CREEK STRETCHING FOR APPROXIMATELY 30K'S MULTIPLE BENCHES ON INSIDE BENDS.

History:

Gold was first discovered in this area in the 1850's, shortly afterwards a small Gold Rush occurred throughout the area. This only lasted for a few years as the "New" Gympie gold rush caused most miners in the area to leave and look for easily recoverable "Alluvial" gold. Most deep (10ft overburden) alluvial deposits in this field are untouched due to the lack of mechanical means. All inside bends with over 10ft of overburden have never been touched and are predominantly cleared for grazing. An agreement is already in place with the landowner of over 80% of these sites who is also excited with these prospects and is easy to work with.
