As head of the CRPM, he was responsible for developing products for clients by means of design, reverse engineering, and additive manufacturing. In 1996, Ludrick joined the Central University of Technology as lecturer and started his research in Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing.
Ludrick Barnard holds an MTech in Mechanical Engineering and is registered as professional Mechanical Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa. As one of only four Steinbeis Certified Consultants in South Africa, Ludrick can add value in terms of all aspects of manufacturing, certified by Steinbeis Beratungszentren GmbH, License 173297. Ludrick has been Director of Product Development Technology Station (PDTS) and Manager of the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacture (CRPM) at the Central University of Technology, bringing about a material increase in the turnover of the CRPM and PDTS, and receiving various awards during his tenure.
