Orbit Garant manufactures drilling rigs and specialized equipment at approximately half the cost of external suppliers by integrating design, fabrication and delivery. The Val-d’Or manufacturing facility provides complete maintenance services to ensure safety and reliability of rig performance. Engineering capabilities include design and modification of specialized equipment such as heli-portable drilling apparatus, water recirculation systems, heat recovery systems and efficient fuel systems.

Computerized monitoring and control technology provides real-time Web access to drilling surveillance, core samples and detailed performance reports. This integration has generated improvements in accuracy and consistency of results, increased productivity for experienced drillers and reduced learning curve for less experienced operators. Clients have achieved productivity near 30 percent higher than traditional drilling. In some cases drilling program duration has been reduced by 50 percent. Increased efficiency means reduced consumable use and extended component durability.

Mobile surface drilling rigs with rubber-track traction optimize mobility while limiting environmental impact. Large modular surface drilling rigs are heli-portable and capable of drilling to depths of 3,000 metres. Water recirculation and filtration systems for drilling provide greater flexibility on sites where water consumption is restricted due to regulatory controls. Heat exchange systems for cold climate drilling allow transfer of heat from the drilling rig engine to heating systems in the driller shelter.

Equipment and services offered include tools and spare parts, hole orientation instruments, service trucks and trailers, underground vehicles, tractors and tracked vehicles, mining bins, all-terrain vehicles and camps. The company manufactures conventional drilling apparatus for third parties.
