UVAD Technologies Inc. develops Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles and provides associated engineering and operational services. The company originated in Canada in the early 2000s when a team of geological explorers developed UAV technology to reduce risk during manned helicopter exploration missions. Operating as Universal Wing Geophysics Inc., the company developed and conducted Geophysical Surveys in the Canadian Arctic using the Venturer UAV, becoming the first in Canada to do so. In 2009, the company changed its name to Stratus Aeronautics Inc. and shifted focus to developing and operating geophysical survey drones using all-electric multi-rotors, developing the 6100b Skylance UAV which is recognized within the exploration community as a highly efficient tool providing reliable and high-quality data in service in North and South America.

In 2019, the company partnered with Indigenous individuals and communities to start CoyWolf Technologies Inc., which bridges communication between First Nations and Infrastructure development companies while providing economic development to First Nations partners and stakeholders. CoyWolf provides UAV services to some of the largest Energy and Infrastructure development companies in Western Canada. In 2021, UVAD expanded its mandate to include Aerospace and Defense with focus on developing Alpine Swift attritable UAS and low-cost high performance Supersonic and Hypersonic UAS technologies. In 2022, the company changed its name to UVAD Technologies Inc., representing its philosophy of building Uncrewed Vehicles using Applied Dynamics through innovative engineering techniques that can be commercialized rapidly.

UVAD is a global leader in UAV Geophysical Surveying, providing innovative solutions to conduct traditional geophysical surveys more efficiently, safely and responsibly. The company employs multidisciplinary engineering capability built on vertically integrated UAV system development supporting both UAV-specific challenges and adjacent applications. Services include aircraft design using Computational Fluid Dynamics and 3D CAD, flight control development using model-based design and proprietary Digital Design Platform, system integration from concept to flight-ready systems, commercial UAV services including aerial photography and videography, infrastructure inspection, mapping and surveying, crop monitoring, delivery and search and rescue operations, hypersonic vehicle development and testing, and Counter UAV and target support services including Remotely Piloted Aircraft System operations for threat replication and adversarial simulation.
