Thunder Gold Corp. (TSXV: TGOL; OTCQB: TGOLF; FRA: Z25) has announced a significant exploration milestone at its Tower Mountain property, located approximately 40 kilometers west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The latest drill results from the Bench Target have revealed a continuous gold mineralization over a 661.5-meter interval, averaging 0.554 g/t Au. This marks the longest mineralized interval reported at the project to date.
Drill Hole TM26-210’s Impact on Resource Estimates
The drill hole TM26-210, which intersected this extensive mineralization, provides substantial implications for the project’s mineral resource estimates. Within the 661.5-meter interval, 516.0 meters averaged 0.503 g/t Au, remaining inside the 2026 mineral resource estimate (MRE) pit shell. An additional 145.5 meters, averaging 0.731 g/t Au, was encountered below this pit shell. The hole concluded while still in mineralization, reinforcing the potential for sub-vertical continuity at depth.
Thunder Gold’s recent drill campaign aims to convert inferred resources into measured and indicated categories, as well as to stimulate resource growth within and around the current pit shell. This extended interval of mineralization not only strengthens the existing resource base but also suggests the potential for further resource expansion.
Contextualizing Recent Drilling Successes
Thunder Gold’s exploration activities at Tower Mountain have been consistently yielding promising results throughout 2026. Prior drilling efforts returned intervals such as 238.5 meters at 0.259 g/t Au, and 142.0 meters at 0.668 g/t Au, along with a notable 1.5-meter section grading 44.1 g/t Au. These results are part of a broader strategy to enhance the project’s economic viability by upgrading the quality and quantity of resources.
Historically, the project has shown potential with earlier results in 2024 reporting 9.12 g/t Au over 12.66 meters. In 2025, Thunder Gold’s near-surface drilling and surface sampling activities included findings of 3.96 g/t Au over 23.7 meters from surface channels and 1.11 g/t Au over 23.7 meters from near-surface drilling.
Future Prospects and Exploration Strategy
Thunder Gold’s 100% ownership of the Tower Mountain property, situated in the Shebandowan Greenstone Belt, provides a strategic advantage in maneuvering exploration efforts. The recently acquired 100% freehold patent within the property boundary and the valid exploration permit until September 2028 further solidifies the company’s operational capabilities.
Looking ahead, the company remains focused on its 2026 exploration objectives, which include conducting further drilling to convert resources and explore growth opportunities. As the year progresses, these efforts could lead to an updated resource estimate that reflects the project’s evolving potential.
The advancements at Tower Mountain are indicative of Thunder Gold’s commitment to unlocking the property’s full value. As the company continues its exploration activities, the results will be closely watched by industry stakeholders, offering insights into the project’s future development trajectory.
