618 alluvial placer claims. 55 contiguous claims beginning at the Alaska/Yukon boarder to just above Miller Creek and the balance beginning at Twelvemile Creek and running contiguously to just below Fiftymile River including the tributaries of Twelvemile, Boucher, California and Fish Creeks and Fiftymile River. Most of the claims have assessment work on file for about 40 years. This is the largest alluvial placer grouping in Yukon.

Location and Access:

Located on the Sixtymile River in the historic Klondike Gold Rush mining district 60 miles west of Dawson City, Yukon and 10 miles from the Alaskan boarder.

Area has been actively mined for over 120+ years. Previous mining operation sold off in 2004 and still operating under new owner. Remaining claims have had exploritory drilling, trenching and shafting done. There are three seasonal access roads and existing water licenses in place.

Wide valley with wide terraces. Depth varies but averages about 9ft of frozen mud and 12ft of gravel. Gold is small in size and 84%+ fineness. This is a very large volume, low grade, shallow deposit with opportunity for longevity with multiple operations. Ability to do testing to determine suitability.

Owner mined on the property in 1975 and then again as Eldorado Placers from 1986-2004 with 2 million bank cubic yards processed (stripped and sluiced)/year at peak.

Additional Information:

Greg Hakonson and Bernard Fahy owned and operated Eldorado Placers from 1978 to 2004.
