Background:
The Major Diamond Company (“Diamond Major”) initially surveyed the area between 1969 and 1980. In 1980, the Diamond Major pulled out of the project for reasons unbeknown to us. In 2004, the Diamond Major came back to the DRC to resume the exploration activities interrupted two decades ago.

Despite the promising findings below, the Diamond Major has once again pulled out of the project once again. These stop and go decisions have resulted in weakening the local partner financially.

We were approached to provide a solution for local partner and the plan outlined in this document is the solution being proposed to any strategic investor and already approved in principle by the local partner.

Key Geological Findings

• Recent work conducted (>2004) comprised reconnaissance sampling, reconnaissance geophysics aeromagnetic surveys) and follow-up airborne magnetic surveys (DAF).
• Results obtained from recent (mainly stream) sampling confirm the presence of kimberlitic Indicator minerals.
• The presence of SKS garnets indicates a local source.
• The presence of spinels, coarser grains (0.710 – 2.0mm size fraction) and sculptured surfaces used to identify higher priority sample results § DAF flown during June/July 2007.
• Forty five anomalies generated from all geophysics and sampling.
• All anomalies rigorously prioritized.
• 23 Anomalies within WB KASAI permits selected for first phase drilling.

Rationale for the Transaction

• Political risk cover can be negotiated to protect 80% of investment
• Project is not a greenfield exploration project, high quality geological information available
• Existence alluvial deposits to be mined as exploration activities resume
• Existence of professional labour, locally (former MIBA employees) and in SA (retrenched staff in diamond companies)
• Abundance of casual unskilled labour; artisan miners to be trained, empowered and employed in the semi-mechanized mining operations (small jigs and manual triage)
