Koryx Copper has released new assay results from its Haib Copper Project in southern Namibia, revealing significant mineralized intervals from 17 drill holes. The latest data, filed with the SEC, showcases wide intercepts, notably including a 244-meter interval grading 0.42% copper equivalent (CuEq) within a broader span of 831 meters. These findings are part of a 6,430-meter infill drilling program aimed at enhancing resource delineation and project feasibility.
Significant Intercepts Highlight Project Potential
The Haib Copper Project’s recent drilling outcomes underscore its potential as a major copper resource. Among the notable results, hole HM155 intercepted a 244-meter interval grading 0.42% CuEq. Additional significant intercepts include hole HM139, with 76 meters averaging 0.52% CuEq, and hole HM147, which returned 84 meters at 0.47% CuEq. These results build upon prior successful drilling phases, with the project consistently delivering broad mineralized zones.
Previous drilling campaigns reported by Koryx included highlights such as 602 meters at 0.32% CuEq in hole HM112, and a series of promising results earlier this year including intervals of 38 meters at 0.57% CuEq. The cumulative data paints a compelling picture of the Haib deposit’s scale and grade, which is crucial for advancing the project towards potential development.
Ownership and Regulatory Pathway
Koryx Copper holds a 100% stake in the Haib Copper Project through its Namibian subsidiary, Deep South Mining Company (Pty) Ltd. This ownership structure provides Koryx with full operational control as it progresses through the permitting and development stages. The project is currently undergoing an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) application process. Koryx has completed specialist baseline studies and anticipates submitting the ECC application by mid-2026, with potential approval in 2027.
This regulatory pathway is critical for the project’s advancement, as securing the ECC is a prerequisite for transitioning from exploration to development and eventual production. The Namibian government’s support for mining projects, combined with Koryx’s proactive approach to environmental and social governance, positions the Haib Copper Project favorably for future development.
Market Context and Future Prospects
The release of these drill results comes at a time when the global copper market is experiencing heightened interest due to increasing demand for copper in renewable energy technologies and electric vehicles. With copper being a key component in these sectors, projects like Haib are gaining strategic importance. Koryx’s consistent delivery of promising drill results enhances its position in the copper mining landscape, potentially attracting interest from investors and industry partners.
Looking ahead, Koryx Copper plans to continue its exploration and resource delineation efforts at Haib. The company’s strategic focus on advancing the project through the permitting process and refining its resource model will be crucial in unlocking the project’s full potential. As the copper market evolves, Koryx’s proactive approach and promising results could position the Haib Copper Project as a significant contributor to the global copper supply in the coming years.
