A position exists for an experienced Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Specialist to join the Processing Analysis andImprovement teamon a 3-6 month contract at an established Mining Operation in Queensland.
The successful candidate will be a tertiary qualified Chemist, with 5+ years analytical lab quality control experience.Mining laboratoryexperienceis desirable but not essential.
Key accountabilities will include,but are not limited to:
Assess, develop, implement and report quality assurance and quality control procedures and systems;
- Initiate and report actions from line feedback;
- Manage laboratory software and documentation;
- Research, develop, and test new methods/equipment as required; and
- Instrument calibrations, validation and troubleshooting.
Mandatory requirements for this role include:
Tertiary qualification – Bachelor of Science (Chemistry);
- Minimum 5 years’ provenexperience in a similar role; and
- Current (unrestricted) driver’s licence.
Additional qualifications (highly regarded):
- Certificate in auditing processes;
- AAS Certificate;
- XRF/Super Certificate;
- ICP-OES Certificate;
- Cert IV Trainer and Assessor;
- S1, S2, S3 Supervisor Training;
- Australian Standard ISO17025 / ISO9001
This role offers a 4 days on, 3 days off (Mon-Thurs) roster, FIFO from either Townsville or Brisbane.(Candidates based outside of either of these two FIFO points will be required to travel to/from one of these nominated FIFO points at their own expense).
The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screen, and will be subject to regular fitness for work testing whilst on site. Availability to complete pre-site and on-site inductions is also required.
