Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Heap Leach Engineer to join the Open Pit Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Planning ore delivery, preparation, and release to process

• Lime usage forecasting and delivery

• Daily, weekly, and monthly planning

• Pad design

• Field controls and inspections

• Variance reporting to plan

• Coordinating heap leach operations between Mine Operations and Process Operations

• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Engineering or related field required

• Experience using Vulcan, Deswik, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite preferred

• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written required

• Excellent safety and performance records required

• Highly self-motivated with strong desire for success required.

• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes rotating shifts and mandatory overtime required

• Understanding of Open Pit and Process safety and production targets required

• Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required

• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with other divisions to optimize the plans of current and future mining activities required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
