The Turquoise Ridge property is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 43 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.
Position Description:
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Underground Construction Supervisor, the Underground Construction Technician, is responsible for the following:
Qualifications:
Two (2) years underground mining experience preferred
Five (5) years previous construction experience or two (2) years construction school (completed with certificate) involving fields in either: concrete forming/pouring, rough carpentry, iron working, welding/fabricating, plumbing/HVAC and surveying for residential, commercial, or industrial fields preferred
Ability to be an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environment required
Able to meet physical requirements of the position including lifting/carrying 50 pounds required
Excellent verbal, written communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of people preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
Demonstrated ability to work from blueprints/drawings and field design work preferred
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team orientated and work with minimum supervision required
Possess strong knowledge Concrete forming, print reading, cutting, welding, and layout skills required
Work history with proven team leader rolls required
Proven safety record required
Excellent attendance record required
