Position Description:

The Barrick Nevada (BNV) Technology and Systems (TAS) Applications Support Analyst ensures technical systems, applications, related tools and utilities, are effectively supported, monitored and kept in a high state of availability to efficiently serve BNV business needs.  They work closely with other BNV TAS functions including Technical Services, Service Delivery and Cyber Security and Compliance to implement, improve and support solutions that are critical in driving business value.  They will support one or more of the following application areas;

• Fleet Management, Dispatch, Mine Engineering & Planning

• Spatial, Exploration, CAD and Environmental

• Operational & Process measurements data acquisition, storage and reporting

• Safety & Health, risk assessment and real-time safety / environmental monitoring

Responsibilities:

• Liaise between BNV business groups to address incidents/issues/inquiries of an IT solution; providing support and guidance to improve efficiency and effectiveness of applications.

• Identify performance bottlenecks, design and implement solutions to enhance output from systems.

• Ensure newly implemented digital mining systems are received, documented, and maintained in a high-state of availability for the business.

• Maintain BNV TAS application and infrastructure documentation and standards.

• Respond to break/fix issues and perform root cause analysis to help improve stability through prevention of future incidents.

• Work with various TAS team members to resolve technical incidents.

• Develop, maintain and improve vendor relationships to facilitate meeting BNV business goals through technology solutions.

• Provide support and guidance to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business applications.

• Identify, design, and implement solutions to enhance systems.

• Rotate through an on-call roster on a periodic basis. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Two (2) year technical degree and/or certification preferred.

• Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline considered.

• Industry certifications considered.

• Experience working within a business environment technical support function preferred.

• Familiarity with mining technical applications preferred; Fleet Management, Dispatch, Mine Engineering and Planning systems, Spatial, Exploration, CAD, Environmental systems, Operational and Process measurements data acquisition, storage, reporting systems, and Safety and Health systems.

• Mining experience preferred.

• Exceptional safety, performance, and attendance records required.
