London-listed Acacia Mining has appointed mining engineer Mark Morcombe as COO effective from the second quarter of this year. Morcombe was previously senior VP for AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi mine, in Ghana, and, prior to 2012, served as senior VP for planning and business development for Africa, supporting mines in Mali, Namibia, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea and Ghana.
