Gold developer West African Resources has moved one step closer to being granted a mining permit for its Tanlouka gold project, announcing on Monday that it had received a favourable opinion by the Burkina Faso Ministry of Environment, Green Economy and Climate Change for its resettlement action plan and its environmental and social impact assessment. This is the penultimate part of the permitting process, with the final decision to grant the mining permit, made by the Council of Ministers and decreed by the country’s Cabinet, expected before year-end.
