Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE: NEM) has recently acquired the Cripple Creek & Victor (“CC&V”) gold mine in Colorado.  CC&V is undergoing an expansion that is about two-thirds complete with remaining development capital expected to be fully funded through operating cash flow. The expansion includes a new mill to augment production, improve recovery on higher grade ore, and add capacity for a potential underground operation. The mill is up and running, and expected to reach full production capacity later this year. The expansion also features a second leach facility and new recovery plant, which are expected to be in production in the second half of 2016.

Located near Colorado Springs in Teller County, Colorado, Cripple Creek & Victor has been in operation since 1995. CC&V is a surface mine that provides ore to a crusher and a leach facility. The operation is currently two-thirds through an expansion which includes a new mill, now in production; and a new leach facility and recovery plant, which will be commissioned during the second half of 2016.

CC&V seeks an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician who will be responsible for troubleshooting plus maintenance and repair of electrical systems at the mine, primarily processing units.  The position will assist and support all electrical and instrumentation processes throughout the mine site including work on high voltage switch gear.  Essential job duties include:

• Lead by example, in all CC&V safety processed, ensuring complete safe engineering practices;
• Manage and ensure strict compliance and ethical behavior with state and federal regulations in all aspects of the business;
• Troubleshoot/repair equipment or components;
• Maintenance and repair of electrical systems mine wide: including, crusher line, shops, and offices.  New construction performed as required.  Work on high voltage switchgear.
• Inspect, test and maintain all instrumentation on the mine site.  Including PLC’s, transducers, zero speed switches, level indicator switches, flow indicators, air/electric valves and associated instrumentation.
• Skilled in the use of voltmeter, ammeters and related test equipment to measure and analyze power and instrumentation circuits for defects
• Able to understand and modify PLC programs as required by changes within the system.
• Direct work of assigned helpers as required.
• Examine tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Knowledge of various mining process operations to include crushing, Mill, ADR, Process and other surface mining skills a plus
• Operate designated vehicles for travel throughout the mine site.

• Electrical and Instrumentation experience necessary with 2+ years mining experience preferred.
• Should be familiar with 3-phase, 480-volt motor circuitry and basic trouble-shooting techniques
• Must be able to follow blueprints, sketches, diagrams and manuals for installation and troubleshooting circuitry
• Previous instrumentation and PLC experience with documented training desirable.
• Must possess a working knowledge of MSHA laws, particularly those pertaining to electrical and instrumentation installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code is desired.
