Job purpose
We are actively seeking Managers and Senior Managers for our Performance Improvement team within EY Advisory practice to assist clients in Mining & Metallurgy sector. As a member, you’ll contribute to mining client engagements and internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish, refresh, and maintain internal and external relationships. You’ll also identify potential business opportunities for Ernst & Young within existing engagements. Similarly, you’ll anticipate and identify risks within engagements and raise any issues with senior members of the team. In line with Ernst & Young’s commitment to quality, you’ll confirm that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer.

Client responsibilities

Oversee Mining Advisory engagements

Actively participate in client and business development activities

Performance manage and mentor teams

Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress

Prepare reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties

Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel

Build strong internal relationships within Ernst & Young Advisory Services and with other services across the organization
People responsibilities

Contribute to people-related initiatives, including recruiting and retaining Advisory Services professionals

Mentor and coach team members

To qualify, candidates must have:

Undergraduate or masters’ degree preferably in one of the following areas: Mining & Metallurgy, Mining Operations, Mining Engineering, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, and other related majors

Strong mining operations and process improvement experience

Business and operations consulting experience in Mining and Metallurgy sector is highly desired

Excellent analytical skills

Project travel up to 60% – 70% across Canada
