Position Description:
Barrick is looking for a Metallurgical Technician to join the Metallurgical Services team.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine sampling, metallurgical lab test work, and data entry/analysis. Lab tests include, but are not limited to, cyanide leach tests, lime and carbon quality control testing, bench top testing (roasting and autoclaving), solution analysis, sample preparation, bond work index testing, and plant inventory sampling
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two (2) years experience in a metallurgical lab preferred
Proven safety record and ability to support work group in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection, and production goals required
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds at knee height required
Ability to read and interpret work orders required
Ability to work in a team orientated environment with others required
Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
Effective oral and written communication skills required
Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
Proficiency with LabWare Lab Information Management System (LIMS) preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
Ability to perform the essential function of the position required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
