Deton’Cho Nuna Joint Venture (DCNJV) is currently accepting resumes for a Miner for our Giant Mine site located near Yellowknife, NT.

The Miner Candidate will report to the Underground Mine Supervisor and will assist in the care and maintenance of the Giant Mine Underground workings.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance of Crown property as part of DCNJV’s Care and Maintenance Contract including underground air and water service lines, drain lines, pumps, and fans;
Installation of ground support, scaling, and support for underground project work;
Maintain compliance with all monitoring and documentation required by the Client and the Northwest Territories Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations;
Use and maintenance of Crown and DCNJV tools and equipment appropriately and with due care;
Compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be in good physical condition and have the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 23 kg;
Ability to work in the underground environment;
Ability to work independently and with minimum of supervision;
Experience working with hand and power tools;
An aptitude for operation of mechanical equipment;
Willingness to work as a member of a team;
Current NWT driver’s license;
High school diploma preferred.
This is a union position with a work schedule of 8 hours/day- Monday to Friday.
Pay rates: Entry $31.09 /hour
Mid Level $34.95 /hour
Skilled $37.67 /hour
