Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Minex Project Geologist to join the Geology Team at Turquoise Ridge Mine.

Responsibilities:

• Field exploration will include mapping, sampling and conducting surveys on district targets

• Logging drill core an RC, generation of drill plans, and communication with Drill Services

• Technical review of geology using ioGas, Leapfrog, and WellCad.

• Financial Evaluation of projects to accompany the annual budgeting process

• Supervision of Minex and contract geologists & summer interns

    

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geological Engineering or related field

• Familiarity with geological modeling and interpretation software (Leapfrog, Vulcan, Acquire, ioGas, WellCad)

• Familiarity with Carlin-type gold deposits

• Experienced in Field exploration and RC & Core logging, practiced in basic mineral exploration

• Computer: download and collection of data, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Ability to conduct field work (steep grades, rugged terrain, carry heavy samples) in a safe manner

• Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) compliance

• Valid drivers license

• Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture

• Able to drive manual transmission mine tractor and a transport van on freeway

• Able to walk significant grades underground and lift 50 lbs if needed

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

The Turquoise Ridge property is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 43 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.
