Project Controller – Hemlo Life of Mine Extension Project
The Project Controller – Hemlo Life of Mine (LOM) Extension, will provide timely and efficient controls on this project while it transitions from detailed engineering, through construction and commissioning into production. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills and technical expertise needed to achieve quality outcomes. The successful candidate will contribute to the high performance team culture that the project and operations rely on.

Oversee and identify plan deviations and recommend solutions to the Project Manager
Monitor performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators (KPIs)
Maintain current and forecasted Cash Flow data when compared to projected Cash Flow
Manage project accounting databases and spreadsheets to ensure security, timely access for the project team and stakeholders
Coordinate communication between PMO (internal and strategic), Finance department, and consultants/contractors
Conduct cost and schedule variance analysis utilizing PMI principles of Earned Value Measurement
Support engineering, procurement and contractor teams
Coordinate project change notices
Generate weekly and monthly reports
Coordinate meetings, facilities, travel
Approve Purchase Requisitions
Ensure invoices are reviewed, tracked and authorized as per Barrick procedures
Implement & manage the Barrick Electronic Document Management system & procedures
Preparation of supply and service procurement packages
Maintain and update project files
Prepare, receive and transmit documents
Monitor workflows and approvals
Review and update technical documents (e.g. manuals and workflows)
Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information
Minimum of Finance Related or BSc degree
This position requires a minimum of 2 – 5 years’ experience working with EPCM teams on a variety of infrastructure projects; experience in the mining industry would be considered an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong technical writing skills
Solid interpersonal and communications skills that contributes to a highly effective team culture, willing to multi-task
Experience with Project Management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, Prism) and Document Management systems would be considered an asset
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), Project Change Notices, Contracts and Procurement Management
Ability to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexible
