Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Roaster Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join the Roaster Maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and effectively perform PM’s, installation, and troubleshooting of power distribution centers, switchgear, motors and controls, process controls and instrumentation
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, and callouts
• Perform other duties as assigned
   

Qualifications:

• Excellent safety record and ability to work with various safety programs required

• Minimum four (4) years process electrical and instrumentation experience or two (2) years trade school or equivalent training required

• Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation circuits on mechanical equipment required

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback required

• Some experience with PLC controls, troubleshooting and programming, as well as experience with variable frequency drives and conveyors required

• Ability to use Microsoft Office software required

• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required

• Capable and willing to work with maintenance and operation teams required

• Fabrication and welding skills including certification preferred

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
