As the Senior Accountant you will be a key member in the company, accomplishing specific accounting objectives within the financial department, assisting and working closely with the Financial Director.

Responsibilities:

• Meet accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
• Meet accounting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements; investing excess funds.
• Review cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, authorizing checks and wire transfers.
• Prepare and enter general ledger entries/transactions into accounting system (JDE).
• Reconcile bank accounts and verify the bank balance with the general ledger
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts in connection with the general ledger
• Prepare and/or Supervises all month-end and year-end accounting procedures including preparation and entry of journal entries for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax, and General Ledger computer systems (JDE).
• Support annual audit by providing information and answers to auditors.
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties of a similar or related level and assists with special projects as necessary or assigned.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Degree / Diploma in Accounting / Finance
• Diploma in auditing advantageous
• Knowledge of local legislation and regulations to determine potential risk and impact upon the company
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
• Previous experience in the Logistics, mining or Oil & Gas industry
• Local Angolans will be considered
