Description:

Safety: Implement and promote the Bariq Safety Procedures and Programs to ensure own safety and the safety of all others in the workplace. Ensure the safety of all personnel through diligent monitoring of hazards, implementation of JSA system, safety policies and controls. Ensure that any safety incidents/accidents are reported within the agreed time frame. Ensure that all laboratory technicians complete the necessary mandatory site safety training in time.

Accountabilities: Provide coordination of commissioning activities. Conduct accurate daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting activities as per Bariq guidelines and maintain such accurate records in the database. Provide guidance and supervision to Metallurgical Technicians in implementing their daily tasks.

Employee Development: Ensure that all employees are developed as per the guidelines of the company Training & Development program. Liaise with the employees in regards to development issues. Monitor the employee development plans. Liaise with T&D/HSE to ensure an understanding of the work and safety requirements for each task. All employees are trained to department standard operating procedures.

Administration: Writing of monthly training reports for the Processing department to be submitted on time. Interpreting and understanding design drawings and making continuous improvement recommendations. Monitoring quality standards in production and ensuring production equipment such as cyclones, density gauges, flow meters, density meters, analyzers, and other devices perform as per design or in accordance with current targets. Managing efficiencies in grinding, classification, flotation, dewatering, and drying processes and suggest controls to eliminate or minimize deviations from desired KPI’s. Conducting metallurgical improvement studies using in house laboratory facility or external consultancy as necessary. Discussing different solutions to problems with other technical staff. Installing and commissioning processing equipment. Participate in research and development programs. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Development: Assist processing training program. Development of standard operating procedures. Assist in Development of the Processing work force in regards to the Processing training program. Assist Development of the work force in the regards to the standard operating procedures. Development of the work force to site HSE standards.

Administration:

Writing of monthly reports for the Processing department to be submitted on time.

 

Qualifications:

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical Engineering

 

Experience:

Essential:

At least 3 years as a Senior metallurgist.

Evidence of clear metallurgical career development path

 

Competencies:

Essential:

Competent in Computer literacy of MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint.

Fluency in English
