Barrick is looking for a Senior Mine Engineer to join the Open Pit Engineering department over the Long Range Planning team.
Responsible for Resource and Reserves preparation and assists in development of the Life-of-Mine plan
Responsible for pit evaluation, optimization, and design
Provide support to Engineering, Process, Mine Geology, and Exploration in development of plans
Manage the integration of Growth projects into the Life-of-Mine process
Preparation of resource models for use in mine planning
Financial and cost modeling to support business functions
Analytical support to Engineering department and wider business as needed
Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field required
Supervisory experience preferred
Five (5) years’ experience in the mining industry preferred
Experience working in an open pit mining operation with exposure to a broad range of practical and technical areas required
Competence with data analytic tools (particularly Microsoft Power Platform and Tableau) preferred
Must be willing and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
Ability to perform all essential functions of this position required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
