Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Senior Mine Engineer to join the Open Pit Engineering department over the Long Range Planning team.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Resource and Reserves preparation and assists in development of the Life-of-Mine plan

• Responsible for pit evaluation, optimization, and design

• Provide support to Engineering, Process, Mine Geology, and Exploration in development of plans

• Manage the integration of Growth projects into the Life-of-Mine process

• Preparation of resource models for use in mine planning

• Financial and cost modeling to support business functions

• Analytical support to Engineering department and wider business as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field required

• Supervisory experience preferred

• Five (5) years’ experience in the mining industry preferred

• Experience working in an open pit mining operation with exposure to a broad range of practical and technical areas required

• Competence with data analytic tools (particularly Microsoft Power Platform and Tableau) preferred

• Must be willing and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required

• Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

• Ability to perform all essential functions of this position required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
