We are recruiting for a highly skilled Site Senior Executive (SSE). The successful SSE should be very experienced for open cut/open pit operations and ideally live in Mount Isa or be willing to DIDO or FIFO.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:
-Extensive experience in an SSE role ((5+ years preferred)
-This experience will be predominantly within open cut/open pit operations
-Must be located at or near the mine

About the role:

SSE is the most senior person at the mine, located at or near the site and in control of the site. Ensuring the management systems and effective safety and health management systems are being implemented and maintained. Ideally the successful candidate will be able to operate machinery for earth moving works. During the inspection’s on site, you will be able to explain the site control and risk management systems.

Duties:
-To ensure the risk to personal from operations is at an acceptable level
-To ensure the risk to personal from any plant or substance provided by the site senior executive to perform work is at an acceptable level
-To develop and implement a single safety and health management system for all personal at the mine
-To develop, implement and maintain a management structure for the mine that helps ensure the safety and health of all personal
-To train workers so that they are competent to perform their duties including;
1. Adequate planning, organization, leadership and control or operations; and
2.the carrying out of critical work at the mine that requires particular technical competencies; and
3. Regular monitoring and assessment of the working environment, work procedures. equipment and installations at the mine; and
4. Appropriate inspections of each workplace at the mine including, where necessary, pre shift inspections
