Technical Services Superintendent

Location – Turquoise Ridge Site, Winnemucca

Position Description:

The successful candidate will lead and manage the Technical Services functions of mine geology and engineering to support the mining operation and to ensure a high standard of planning and technical support. 

Responsibilities:

• As a member of the site leadership team, actively participate in the management of the operation to ensure that health and safety, environmental, production, cost and cash flow targets are achieved. Ensure that all activities at the site occur in accordance with company and regulatory safety, environmental, and security policies, standards and regulations.
• Demonstrate active participation in the management of the operation to ensure that health and safety, environmental, production, cost and cash flow targets are achieved
• Be responsible for strategic, long- and short-range mine planning, and geotechnical engineering as well collaborating with ore control and geology
• Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with other site divisions as well as other Barrick Technical Services groups
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

• BS in Mining, Geology or related degree required

• Minimum 10 years mining industry experience, including 3-4 years underground experience or equivalent required

• Proven ability to influence people and to work as part of a high-performing team required

• Capability to lead, mentor, and develop technical staff required

• Competence in mine economics, evaluation techniques, and budgeting for mine operations required

• Broad user knowledge of Microsoft and Vulcan computer systems preferred

The Turquoise Ridge property is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 43 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.
