Underground Mine Foreman position in a camp based environment.

One of Canada’s leading mining companies is currently searching for a Mine Foreman to join their established underground operation. The job opportunity will allow the successful candidate to oversee the safety and production of this large-scale mining operation.

Working closely with mine supervisors and operations crews, the Mine Foreman will supervise each area of development and assist these crews as required with safety and production targets. In consultation with the Engineering Team, the Mine Foreman will inspect and monitor the ground conditions of development areas. The position will also have responsibility for mine infrastructure, ventilation, power and communication at the mine site. The Mine Foreman will plan and ensure the execution of work conducted on site, maintaining a three month rolling forecast of production and development.

Health and safety will be a critical part of this position and the Mine Foreman will be involved in the health and safety meeting and report any issues and log any safety concerns on a daily basis. In the event that safety incidents do occur, the Mine Foreman will be expected to work with management to complete the appropriate reports. Where there are special projects that are due to be implemented on the mine site, the Mine Foreman may be required to assist in their development. They will also be expected to work closely with the Human Resources team to ensure any grievances or issues are dealt with in a prompt, effective and legally compliant manner.

To be suitable for this position, the Mine Foreman will have considerable experience in underground operations, with at least eight years of experience in a leadership role. You will be comfortable managing large budgets and production targets, and have demonstrated an effective history of safe mine operation. You must be a leader who is willing to go the extra mile for their team and always be available to ensure the job gets done.
