GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be safety driven and safety conscious; will be required to visit each underground heading, complete underground mapping, ensure proper routing of material, communicate with operations and engineering, possess effective public speaking and professional writing skills in regards to ore control; will also be required to log core, generate drill plans, effectively communicate with drill services, and regularly visit underground drills; must me willing and able to work a rotating schedule and ten hour straight day schedule, dependent on business needs; will be required to enroll in and complete Barrick’s Compass Training Program; perform other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field or equivalent experience required
• Experience working in an underground mining environment preferred
• Strong computer skill with the ability to collect and download data required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required
• Valid driver’s license required
• RC and Core logging experience preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Ability to walk significant grade underground and lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation required
• Proven track record of developing and maintain a safe work culture required
• Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) compliance required
• Familiarity with Carlin-type gold deposits preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
